📘 HOW TO USE THE DOLLAR-COST AVERAGING CALCULATOR
This calculator helps you figure out your average cost per share when you invest the same amount of money on a regular basis — a strategy called Dollar-Cost Averaging (DCA).
Steps:
- Enter your investment amount per period — for example, $200.
- Enter the number of periods — for example, 3 (for 3 months).
- Click "âž• Add Price Fields" to generate input fields for each period.
- Enter the price of the investment for each period — for example:
- Period 1: $50
- Period 2: $45
- Period 3: $40
- Click "📊 Calculate" to get your result.
Example:
If you invest $200 each month for 3 months, and the prices were:
- Month 1: $50
- Month 2: $45
- Month 3: $40
You would invest a total of $600, purchase 13.4444 shares, and your average cost per share would be $44.63.
